You will be taken back to Manhattan at the height of the Jazz Age, when women were just beginning to enter the workforce and rewriting the rules of love. This musical comedy was adapted from the 1967 film version starring Mary Tyler Moore, Julie Andrews, and Carol Channing. This play was written by Caroline Francke and was based on the novel by Edward Streeter. In 1950 the film “Father of the Bride” was made starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor and was nominated for several Academy Awards. “Father of the Bride” was also made into a television series which aired in 1961. A remake of the same name starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton was released in 1991.
