This play was written by Caroline Francke and was based on the novel by Edward Streeter. In 1950 the film “Father of the Bride” was made starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor and was nominated for several Academy Awards. “Father of the Bride” was also made into a television series which aired in 1961. A remake of the same name starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton was released in 1991.
